Idaho Bird Observatory runs a songbird banding station at Lucky Peak during fall migration. Over one hundred different species are trapped and banded at this central Idaho station. Banding songbirds provides critically important information on species declines and also provides a unique opportunity for educating the public. Biologists teach kids from local schools about the important role that songbirds play in Idaho ecosystems.
